Police emergency service planned

Bangalore: Director-General and Inspector-General of Police R. Sri Kumar said on Friday that the plans to provide police emergency services would be speeded up in the wake of the recent terror attack in Mumbai. “Plans are under way to provide police services similar to the 108 helpline for emergency medical services. The services would ensure that a police team reached the location within 30 minutes,” he said. He was speaking at the launch of “Freedom from Noise Campaign” and the ninth anniversary of Nightingales Elders Enrichment Centre at the Seva Sadan auditorium in Malleswaram. — Staff Reporter
