Back people’s demands: Allum

Bangalore: The former Minister Allum Veerabhadrappa on Friday said that people, especially those from the underprivileged sections, had a right to demand work, education, health facility and land and the Congress workers should support them.
Mr. Veerabhadrappa was inaugurating a World Human Rights Day function at the KPCC office here.
The Congress leader recalled the memorandum presented by the former Minister Bheemanna Khandre to party president Sonia Gandhi to provide support to families of farmers who committed suicide in the State.
He said that Ms. Gandhi later told Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to waive farm loans to the extent of Rs. 72,000 crore.
Umashree, former MLC, lamented the prevalence of female foeticide in the State. Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLA, spoke.
