Suman scores century

USEFUL KNOCK: Karnataka’s C. Raghu showed resilience during his knock of 64 against U.P. in Bangalore on Friday.

Chennai: Opener T. Suman scored 131 as Hyderabad ended day one of its Ranji Trophy super league Group ‘A’ cricket match at home against Punjab at 246 for seven.

For Punjab, leg-spinner Sarabjit Ladda took four wickets including the crucial scalp of Suman, which broke a fourth-wicket stand of 134 between him and Amol Shinde (57).

The scores: Super league: At Hyderabad: Hyderabad 246 for seven in 90 overs (T. Suman 131, A. Shinde 57, S. Ladda four for 51) vs. Punjab.

At Jaipur: Rajasthan 136 in 53.2 overs (Amit Singh four for 31) vs. Gujarat 111 for three in 33 overs (N. Patel 51 batting).

At Rajkot: Saurashtra 234 for nine in 84 overs (B.M. Chauhan 61, R. Jadeja 56, P. Awana four for 57) vs. Delhi.

At Cuttack: Mumbai 180 in 85.1 overs (V. Samant 46, Basanth Mohanty five for 50) vs. Orissa three for three in 1.2 overs.

At Bangalore: Karnataka 277 for six in 94 overs (R. Uthappa 65, C. Raghu 64) vs. Uttar Pradesh.
