Fatehdeep Singh in final

GURGAON: Fatehdeep Singh knocked out the second-seeded Jatinder Singh 6-1, 6-4 in the semifinals of the boys’ section in the National under-12 tennis championship at the NTA Complex here on Friday. He will meet the top-seeded Shailender Boniface in the final.

Boniface in partnership with Lalhmachhuana won the doubles title, beating the top-seeded Fatehdeep and Jatinder Singh 6-1, 1-6, 7-6(2).

The results: Under-12 boys: Singles: Semifinals: Shailender Boniface bt H. T. Zoremsanga 7-6(5), 6-1; Fatehdeep Singh bt Jatinder Singh 6-1, 6-4. Doubles: Final: Shailender Boniface & Lalhmachhuana bt Fatehdeep & Jatinder Singh 6-1, 1-6, 7-6(2).

Under-12 girls: Singles: Semifinals: Akshara Iska bt Pragati Nataraj 6-2, 6-1; Roma Chandiran bt Prabhuti Singhania 6-3, 6-4. Quarterfinals: Akshara bt Jaya Bhandary 6-0, 6-0; Pragati bt Nikita Anand 6-4, 6-3; Prabhuti bt Devanshi Bhimjiyani 7-5, 6-0; Roma bt Riya Bhatia 6-3, 6-3.
