Thumping win for U.P.

CHENNAI: U.P. completed an innings and 166-run win over Saurashtra, with a day to spare, in the under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match here on Friday.

Saurashtra, trailing by 296 runs, was bundled out for 130 in the 70th over.

V.M. Jivrajani remained unbeaten on 37 to be the top scorer in the innings.

In the other match, Tamil Nadu conceded the first innings lead to Maharashtra.

At Chennai: Saurashtra 72 and 130 in 69.4 overs (Md. Khalid three for 28) lost to U.P. 368.

Maharashtra 269 and 103 for six in 63 overs (Joel Joseph three for 28) v Tamil Nadu 153 in 71.4 overs (Vijay Shankar 49, Jitendra Pail four for 68).

At Bangalore: Haryana 351 in 125.3 overs and 179 for seven in 69 overs (Rajat Paliwal 59 n.o., Yuzuvendra 46) vs Himachal Pradesh 184 in 77.2 overs (Jayant Yadav six for 64).

Mumbai 277 in 93.2 overs and 202 in 88.3 overs (Rahul 42, Kaustub Pawar 41) vs Assam 211 in 77.2 overs and 20 for no loss in eight overs.

At Visakhapatnam: Vidarbha 162 and 203 in 96.3 overs (Amogh Dani 78, Md. Arif Parihar three for 47) lost to Rajasthan 359 and seven for no loss in three overs.

Karnataka 466 and 113 for three decl. in 21 overs (Karun Nair 46) vs. Andhra 206 in 71 overs (Ch. Praneeth Kumar 62, Vamsikrishna 38, Daniel Sequeira three for 40) and 71 for three in 23 overs.

At Dhanbad: Jharkhand 239 and 218 (Maninder Kalsi 52, Ashish Shukla 41, Manan Sharma four for 43) lost to Delhi 233 and 227 for nine (Samarth Singh 90, Vivek Mishra 48, Rahul Shukla five for 61).
