Additional school buildings in hilly regions: Collector

KODAIKANAL: To ensure better infrastructure for tribal children to continue their education, additional buildings would be constructed for schools in hilly regions. Compound wall will be constructed wherever necessary and electricity supply also given.
Community certificate would be given to all tribals, said Collector R. Vasuki.
She was delivering a special address after distributing community certificates to tribal people here on Friday.
Community certificate was ready for distribution to 75 tribal families at Pachalur. Already, a special committee has started verification work to identify tribal people to give community certificate. A total of 371 families would get community certificates and 297 families tribal welfare board identity card, she added. “We have plans to complete the process and distribute certificate before December 31. ”
Orator, I. Leoni, Madurai Jesuit Province Socius, A. Arulanandam, Jesuit country coordinator, C. Amal, and Inigo Jesuit Siruvar Illam Director Xavier Raj spoke.
Later, Ms. Vasuki released a book on Ethno Botanical Wisdom of the Tribals in Palani Hills written by S.M. John Kennedy, English teacher, St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School.
