Rail traffic restored

The Southern Railway, Salem Division has announced that trains from and towards destinations in Kerala and Mangalore will be restored to the original pattern of operations touching Coimbatore

from midnight of Friday (Dec. 12). Since Nov.25, train services were re-routed from Irugur to Podanur and vice-versa skipping Coimbatore Junction for enabling rail-yard remodelling works. Authorities said that major works had been completed and only 35 per cent of works were pending which does not require re-routing of traffic.
