Three NGOs get Japanese grant

CHENNAI: Three non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in south India have been sanctioned grants from the Government of Japan to undertake projects for the uplift of the underprivileged. One NGO in Tamil Nadu is also included.
The Society for Integrated Development in Urban and Rural Areas and the Mass Education and Organisation Society in Andhra Pradesh will receive grants to the tune of $88,313 and $80,115 respectively while the Rural Uplift Centre (Tamil Nadu) will get $88,470.
The grants are extended under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP). They will be handed over to the non-governmental organisations at a function scheduled at the Teynampet residence of Kazuo Minagawa, Consul-General of Japan on December 15.
