Solatium announced

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi announced a solatium of Rs.2 lakh to the family of head constable Chandran of Tiruvallur district, who died while on bandobust duty for the Karthigai Deepam festival at Tiruvannamalai on Friday, from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Mr. Karunanidhi also ordered that the constable’s ward be given a government job, according to an official release. — Special Correspondent
