Red sanders seized

Coimbatore: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Tuesday night seized 10.51 tonnes of red sander logs valued at Rs.80 lakh in the international market.

According to sources, the logs were packed in a container, which had jute bags as well. The consignment was on its way to Kochi from Bangalore. The logs were intended for export, officials said. The seized logs have been deposited at the Inland Container Depot at Singanallur. — Staff Reporter
