Assumes office

CHENNAI: Anu George, formerly Deputy Commissioner (Education), Chennai Corporation, took charge as Commissioner of Ambattur Municipality on Thursday. According to sources in the Commissionerate of Municipal Administration, it is the first time in the State that an IAS officer has been posted as municipal commissioner. The appointment comes in the backdrop of the proposal to form two more Corporations in Chennai, one of them with Ambattur as its headquarters.
