Flag Day collection target exceeded

PUDUKOTTAI: The district has exceeded in the target for Flag Day collection for 2007, District Revenue Officer R. Mahendravel said. Addressing the ex-servicemen on the occasion of ‘Flag Day’ celebrations here recently, he said that against the target of Rs.18.59 lakh, the district registered a collection of Rs. 21.04 lakh. For the current year, the state government has fixed a target of Rs. 19.52 lakh, he added appealing to the members of the public to contribute liberally in the cause of ex-servicemen. Assistant Director of Ex-servicemen Welfare K. Kalyanasundaram said that the Flag Day collection was being utilised for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and their dependents.
