BHUBANESWAR: The third national film festival on art and artists being hosted by the Jatin Das Centre of Art (JDCA) would be underway in the capital from Friday.

The festival that features short, documentaries and animation films includes works of Satyajit Ray, Kumar Shahni, Jabbar Patel, Hari Das Gupta, Chidananda Dasgupta, Gulbahar Singh and Madhushree Dutta.

Forty-seven delegates from India and Bangladesh are attending the festival. The list includes Gautam Ghosh, Amol Palekar, Janhu Barua, Kumar Shahni, Aruna Vasudev, Suresh Kohli and Sunit Tandon, Bidisha revealed.

Screenings would be held simultaneously at the Jayadev Bhawan and adjacent IDCOL auditoria daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with lunch breaks. The event has three special sessions devoted to deliberations – Dance and film by Sunil Kothari, Songs in Indian cinema by Ira Bhaskar and Dance for the camera by Ileana Citaristi, it was learnt.
