Global Hospitals launched

CHENNAI: Global Hospitals and Health City in Perumbakkam was formally launched on Tuesday.

The Hyderabad-based Global Hospitals Group had taken over former Tamil Nadu Hospitals and invested Rs. 500 crore to renovate the hospital and open it out to the public again.

It is now a 325-bed speciality care centre, including a special ward for free treatment for the underprivileged.

It is proposed that a dedicated cancer facility would be operational by February or March 2009.
