Treble for Avinash

BANGALORE: Avinash of HSBC claimed a coveted treble crown in the 4th Entertainment Between Friends (EBF) organised inter-corporate table tennis tournament at the Canara Union premises here.

Avinash annexed the men’s singles title defeating Arun Cyril (WNS) 11-4, 11-9, 11-13, 6-11, 11-8. He then teamed up with Denzil for the men’s doubles and Anita for the mixed doubles crown.

The results: Women: Singles: Final: R. Vidya (TCS) bt Anita (HSBC) 13-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-7. Semifinals: Anita bt Deepika (SLK Software) 11-6, 11-4, 11-4; R. Vidya bt Ipsita (SLK Software) 11-2, 11-6, 11-9.

Doubles: Final: Anita / Vinuta (HSBC) bt Ipsita / Deepika 6-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-3. Semifinals: Anita / Vinuta bt Asha / Uttara (Sonata) 11-3, 11-4, 11-4; Ipsita / Deepika bt D. Aaarthi / N. Jyothi (Motorola) 11-3, 11-5, 11-7.

Men: Singles: Final: A. Avinash (HSBC) bt Arun Cyril (WNS) 11-4, 11-9, 11-13, 6-11, 11-8. Semifinals: Arun bt Sudhindra (HP) 11-3, 11-8, 11-7; Avinash bt Vikas V. Rao (Mphasis) 12-10, 15-13, 11-7.
