Ananth sizzles

Margao: A brilliant century by Rajagopalan Ananth helped Tamil Nadu take a 233-run first innings lead over Goa on the penultimate day of the three-day Vijay Merchant South Zone under-16 league match at the MCC ground here on Tuesday.

Goa was at 92 for eight in its second innings and still needs 141 runs to avoid an innings defeat. Goa was bundled out for a paltry 99 in its first innings.

Goa 99 & 92 for eight (Raju Aushik Srinivas three for 24) vs Tamil Nadu 332 for seven decl. (Rajgopalan Ananth 111 not out, Baba Indrajith 69, Shikhar Hukku 92; Ganeshraj Narvekar three for 116).
