Delhi posts narrow win

VIJAYAWADA: Delhi scored a narrow one-run victory over Bengal in the all-India senior women inter-State one-day (group-A) cricket league championship at Anantapur, according to information reaching here on Tuesday.

Bengal, in reply to Delhi 137 in 46.4 overs, was all out for 136 in 48.2 overs.

In another match, Sonia Dabir’s all-round performance (40 runs and four for 28) enabled Maharashtra defeat Uttar Pradesh by 18 runs. Wednesday is a rest day.

The scores: Delhi 137 in 46.4 overs (Deepti Dhyani 65, Beas Sarkar four for 20) bt Bengal 136 in 48.2 overs (Jhulan Goswami 33, Reema Malhotra three for 30).

Maharashtra 140 in 48.5 overs (Sonia Dabir 40, Parul Choudary three for 26, Ekta Bisht three for 21) bt Uttar Pradesh 122 in 46.4 overs (Sonia Dabir four for 28).
