Kids showcase their creativity

Children can go miles if they are given the right exposure and the perfect platform. This was the underlying message behind the “Champak Creative Child” contest at Rail Museum here over the weekend.

Organised by the Delhi Press Group, the contest was aimed at giving a platform to children to showcase their creativity.

Addressing the children, politician-cum-animal rights crusader Maneka Gandhi emphasised the importance of art and creativity in shaping the children’s creative bent of mind. “Children should be conscious about their surrounding environment as they are great contributors in the conservation process,” she said.

Praising the talented children, cartoonist Sudhir Tailang motivated them to excel in the field of arts. “Art and culture help in shaping up the creative mind. Children are the greatest artists that we can have. There can be none who can excel in imagination than a young child. They should be given enough encouragement to portray their talents to the world outside,” he added.
