NEW DELHI: A hat-trick by Dalip Singh Virk powered Apollo International School, Sonepat, to a 5-0 victory over Guru Harkrishan Public School, Vasant Vihar, in the senior boys’ section of the 26th S.S. Mota Singh memorial hockey tournament at the school ground in Block-A, Janakpuri, here. Abhimanyu and Kamal scored the other goals for the winner. In another match in the senior section, S.S. Mota Singh Model School, Guru Harkrishan Nagar, defeated JKG Public School, Ghaziabad, 1-0, thanks to the goal by Manpreet Singh in the 55th minute. In the junior boys’ section, Apollo International School, Sonepat, defeated Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, 4-0. Nikhil (2), Shatrugan Kumar and Phunstog scored the goals for the Sonepat team. IN the girls’ section, host S.S. Mota Singh Senior Secondary Model School pipped Mt. Abu Public School, Pitampura, 4-3. Harleen (2), Komal and Arshpreet scored for the winner. Swati (2) and Kamini were successful for the loser. — Special Correspondent
