Stalin inaugurates medical camp

600 doctors, 3,000 health workers were involved in the programme


CHENNAI: The Chennai Corporation conducted 30 medical camps in association with three private hospitals on Sunday.

Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the programme at Corporation High School in Thousand Lights. He said that 600 doctors and 3,000 health workers were involved in the programme .

Health Officer P. Kuganantham said that the camps, conducted through private-public partnership, had reached out to about one lakh patients, including 21,763 children.

Ultrasound scan was offered free of cost for 1,470 patients, ECG for 2,300 patients and cervical screening for 1,270 patients.

Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Apollo Hospitals and Billroth Hospital provided resources. The hospitals also supplied medicines worth several lakh rupees.

Transport Minister K.N. Nehru, Mayor M. Subramanian and Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni were also present.
