Five-wkt. win for Himachal

Bangalore: Himachal Pradesh defeated Bengal by five wickets in a Cooch Behar Trophy under-19 cricket tournament match which concluded here on Sunday.

Chasing 237 in its second innings, Himachal Pradesh scored the winning runs in 79.4 overs.

At Bangalore: Bengal 175 in 50 overs & 230 in 75 overs lost to Himachal Pradesh 169 in 68.3 overs & 237 for five in 79.4 overs (Sumeet Verma 42, Pratik Sribastava four for 85).

Haryana 289 in 90.2 overs & 251 in 81.2 overs bt Assam 166 in 48.4 overs & 272 in 88.5 overs (Rajdeep Das 54, Rishav Das 45, Yuzuvender Chahal six for 62).

At Visakhapatnam: Vidarbha 273 and 169 (Aditya Sarwate 51, Viraj Ratan 29, Lakshay Seth six for 54, Gurwinder Singh three for 32) lost to Punjab 473 for six decl.

Rajasthan 424 and 160 for three (Ankit Lumba 100 n.o., Awijeet Singh 52, D. Siva Kumar three for 42) drew with Andhra 329 (M. Ajay Kumar 84, B. Sudhakar 70 n.o., Azharuddin Khan four for 65, Gourav Sharma three for 43).

At Chennai: Baroda 285 & 180 for three decl. in 43 overs drew with Saurashtra 138 & 150 for eight in 104 overs (S.C. Sidhu 40). Baroda: 3 pts; Saurashtra: 1.
