Dhoni arrives in Chennai

Chennai: The Indian cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, on Sunday arrived here for the first Test against England while his teammates are expected to join him on Monday.

The first Test will begin on December 11 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here.

Dhoni, who arrived here from Kolkata, was whisked away by the waiting TNCA officials and the police personnel.

The Indian captain, who was escorted by Black Cat commandos, did not speak to the waiting media at the airport.

BCCI sources said other members of the Indian team would reach the city by Monday and would start practice on Tuesday, two days before the first Test.

Dhoni is said to have come early because of a commercial shoot. — PTI
