Letters to the Editor
This refers to the report “Muslim organisations to scale down celebrations” (Dec. 6). The condemnation of the Mumbai terror attacks by Muslim organisations and their appeal to the community to scale down Eid-ul-Azha celebrations are welcome. The Dar-ul-Uloom’s advice to Muslims not to sacrifice cows is indeed laudable and will go a long way in respecting the Hindu brethren’s religious sentiments. Ko. Shafee Ahmed, Chennai Eid-ul-Azha symbolises sacrifice. I will surely scale down my celebration and pray for the happiness and prosperity of the world in general and our nation in particular.Abdul Muqhtadir, Manvi
