CHANDIGARH: Union Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal on Saturday inaugurated a typical Lahore type ‘Night Food Street’ in Sector 14 here outside the Panjab University Gate which faces the entrance to the PGI. Traditional regional food along with Indian, Continental and South Indian cuisines would be available at the eight food kiosks at reasonable rates, Chandigarh Mayor Pardeep Chhabra said. Municipal Commissioner Roshan Sunkaria, Joint Commissioner T.P.S. Phoolka and the local area Councillor Anu Chatrath were also present. Mr. Chhabra disclosed that toilet blocks for ladies and gents had also been constructed adjoining the ‘street’. He further added that the Corporation was also developing a Blind Park in Chandigarh and its foundation stone would be laid shortly. Dr. Roshan Sunkaria disclosed that the response to the ‘street’ would be studied and it could be even replicated in some other area of the City Beautiful.
