Muzaffarnagar: A case was registered on Sunday against six police personnel, including an SHO, for allegedly torturing two persons in custody. Chief Judicial Magistrate Renu Rao directed the police to register a case after the victims’ family alleged that the police were not taking any action on their complaint. The family members of Suhail Rana and his brother Hasim Rana alleged that the police tortured the two in custody and tried to implicate them in a murder case. As per the court’s directive, a criminal case was registered against SHO Baljit Singh, sub-inspector Pritam Singh and four constables of the Kotwali police station. In another incident, a case was registered against three persons, including Chapar police station SHO for allegedly misbehaving with a woman.
