Saran to team up with Ajith again

CHENNAI: While it was known that Sivaji Productions had signed up actor Ajith for its next film, there has been suspense about who the director would be.

While several noted directors’ names did the rounds, industry sources say the production house has zeroed in on director Saran. The film has been named ‘Asal’. The director, who is presently working on ‘Modhi Vilayadu’, was chosen since he and actor Ajith together have history of giving hits, like ‘Kadhal Mannan’ and ‘Amarkalam’. Music director Harris Jayaraj will score music for ‘Asal’.

With his music for ‘Vaaranam Ayiram’ topping the charts, fans could look out for more of his magic in this film, too, sources add. Mr. Saran’s films have all been musical hits.
