Diabetes expo

CHENNAI: The fifth diabetes exhibition, to be held in the city from December 19 to 21 by Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, will focus on ‘diabetes in children and adolescents’.

The exhibition, to be held at Raja Muthiah Hall, Egmore, will have over 25 theme stalls, including display of posters, charts and photographs depicting various aspects in diabetes.

Digital eye (retinal) photography will be available at the venue to detect diabetic retinopathy.

Facilities for other tests such as refraction and eye pressure measurement will also be done. Books on the subject will be on sale and physicians and paramedical staff will be available for counselling those with diabetes.

Yoga demonstrations, aerobics for health, sessions on stress management, quiz programmes and cultural programmes by juvenile diabetics and puppet shows will be also held, said V. Mohan, the Centre’s chairman.
