KOLKATA:Veteran filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner Tapan Sinha was admitted to a private hospital here on Friday, following complaints of severe difficulty in breathing. According to a statement issued by the hospital authorities, Mr. Sinha was admitted with chest infection and in a semi-conscious state. He is in the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU) under the supervision of a senior cardiologist. His condition is said to be stable . This is the third time in five months that the 84-year-old filmmaker is being hospitalised. Mr. Sinha was previously admitted to the same hospital in June and August with respiratory problems. He has won 19 National Film Awards in various categories and laurels at several international film festivals in his 46-year career.
