AOC Centre beats Bolarum Sporting

HYDERABAD: AOC Centre recorded a 4-2 win over Bolarum Sporting in the SAAP Budweiser Premier League football championship at Gymkhana Grounds here on Friday.

The Armymen shot into the lead in the ninth minute when S.C. Mondal was on target. And then in the 50th minute he scored his second goal.

Soon, Sporting reduced the margin through Tirupathi off a header. A.R. Naidu dribbled his way into the striking zone before chipping the ball over the goalkeeper to level the scores.

However, in the dying moments, AOC clinched the issue thanks to fine goals from Kalim Ansari and Arvind Kumar.

The match also witnessed rough play as Kiran and Khadir Khan of Sporting and Latish of AOC were shown yellow cards for dangerous play.

Ball badminton

The Hyderabad State Ball Badminton Association will organise the 54th senior inter-district championship for men and women at Midhani Township from December 6 to 7. The event assumes significance as the State teams for the forthcoming senior Nationals will be picked based on the performances here. Nine men’s and eight women’s teams will be taking part in the event.

Champions Trophy

The seventh SR Champions Trophy inter-engineering colleges cricket championship, organised by SR Engineering College (Warangal), will be held from January 10 to 18, according to Kiran Reddy, PRO.

The organisers have decided to restrict the number of entries to 42 and also permit only those colleges which are at least three years old to compete in the event. For details contact Phone No. 9989292029.

Coaching camps

The Indian Olympic Association, conceding to the request of Jharkhand Olympic Association, has revised the dates of the 34th National Games which will now be held from February 15 to 28 in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad.

In this connection, AP Olympic Association will come out soon with particulars of the disciplines and the qualifying marks. The coaching camps will be held in coordination with Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, according to L. Venkatram Reddy, secretary of APOA.
