Big win for U.P.

Chennai: Uttar Pradesh scored a ten-wicket win over Maharashtra on Saturday, day two of the Cooch Behar Trophy Elite Group ‘A’ cricket match here.

Resuming at 155 for six in its first innings, U.P. was dismissed for 198. Maharashtra, bowled out for 79 on day one, fared only slightly better in its second innings scoring 124.

U.P. reached the victory target (six runs) without losing a wicket.

Goel his century

At Visakhapatnam, Perry Goel scored a century (14x4, 1x6) to help Punjab reach 163 for no loss in 63 overs against Vidarbha.

At Chennai: Maharashtra 79 and 124 in 59.2 overs (Rohit Motwani 31, Udit Birla 35, Aman Litt four for 33, Gagandeep Singh four for 11) lost to Uttar Pradesh 198 in 80.3 overs (Ankit Tewari 41, K. Bhuvaneshwar 29, Shivansh Sharma 31) and eight for no loss in 0.5 overs.

Baroda 285 in 127.3 overs (Aditya Reddy 42, Nikunj Mohite 52, Monil Patel 62, Achyaut Reddy 34, Bhargav Bhatt 28, J.D. Unadkat five for 45, S.H. Bhojani three for 55) v Saurashtra 81 for four in 51 overs (Swapnil Singh three for 26).

At Bangalore: Bengal 175 in 50 overs & 157 for six in 52 overs (Sudip Chatterjee 47 not out) vs. Himachal Pradesh 169 in 68.3 overs (Amit Kumar 41 not out, Sayan Sekhar Mondal five for 59).

Haryana 289 in 90.2 overs and 104 for five in 40 overs (Mukul Dagar 62 not out) vs. Assam 166 in 48.4 overs (Arminder Singh 54, Diptesh Saha 44, Yuzuvender Chahal four for 43).

At Visakhapatnam: Vidarbha 273 in 121 overs (Jaskaran Singh five for 109, Gurwinder Singh three for 52) vs. Punjab 163 for no loss in 63 overs (Perry Goel 105, Kunwar Raina 56).

Rajasthan 424 in 146.2 overs (Chetan Bisht 94 not out, Azharuddin Khan 28, T.K. Ganesh three for 82) vs. Andhra 91 for four in 33 overs (Ch. Praneeth Kumar 25).
