Security beefed up: Rapid Action Force deployed near Charminar on Friday in the wake of the shooting incident earlier this week. The deployment will continue for the next 24 hours in view of ‘black day’ being observed on Saturday. HYDERABAD: Additional forces were deployed at communally-sensitive localities of old city in view of the observance of ‘Black Day’ and ‘Vijay Diwas’ by different parties and organisations marking the Babri Masjid demolition day on Saturday. City Police Commissioner B. Prasada Rao said security had already been stepped up all over the city in the backdrop of the recent terror attacks in Mumbai and further strengthened in view of programmes being organised in protest against Babri Masjid demolition. Permission was not given to the Darsgah Jihad-O-Shahadat which takes out protest rally from DBR Mills to Indira Park culminating in a meeting every year on December 6. No permission for rally“They said late in the night that permission for rally was rejected. Nevertheless, we will take out rally from Madina to MJ Market,” DJS leader Majid said. Police said they would take appropriate action if DJS tried to violate rules. Elaborate security arrangements were made for the noon prayers at Mecca Masjid on Friday, a day ahead of Babri Masjid demolition day. A youngster Jawed was taken into custody near Mecca Masjid as he carried a black bag. But he was later let off as nothing suspicious, except some clothes, were found in it. Meanwhile, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) said it would observe the 16th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid on as “black day” and State bandh. MBT working president Mohammed Adam Malik, at a press meet, called upon people to make the bandh a success. A memorandum would be submitted to the Governor in the evening. He demanded the Central government to set up a special court for expediting Babri Masjid case and trial of those involved in its demolition.
