15 injured in accident

KARIMNAGAR: Fifteen persons were injured, including five seriously, when the Bhagyanagar Express train hit a private school van at a manned level crossing near Madipalli on the outskirts of Jammikunta on Friday night.

Police sources said that the Kakatiya junior college students were returning to their villages after evening classes in the Kakatiya school van. After entering the level crossing, the van driver, swerved his vehicle to a side of the track.

But the train hit the van’s rear injuring over 15 persons. An Intermediate student Nithesh, ayah Rajeshwari and washerwoman Laxmi who sustained serious head injuries are undergoing treatment in private hospital.
