Mohith triumphs

Manipal: Mohith Kamath of Tata Padukone Badminton Academy (TPBA) emerged champion in the Five Star Karnataka State-ranking badminton tournament’s men’s section at the Manipal Institute of Technology Badminton Hall here on Friday. In the final, Mohith defeated Jagadish Yadav 21-12, 21-14. Meanwhile, Soumyapadhye won the women’s singles title, defeating G.M. Nischitha 22-20, 21-18.

The results (finals): Men’s singles: Mohith Kamath bt Jagadish Yadav 21-12, 21-14. Doubles: Guruprasad & Vineet Manual bt Venkatesh Prasad & Druv Kumar 22-20, 25-23.

Women’ singles: Soumyapadhye bt G.M. Nischitha 22-20, 21-18. Doubles: Soumyapadye & Adfa Taqui bt Nischitha & Soumya 21-10, 21-13.

Mixed doubles: Soumyapadhye & Guruprasad bt Nischitha & Vineet Manual 16-21, 21-14, 21-19.

Veterans’ singles: Jayaram Pai bt K.P. Vasanth Kumar 21-11, 21-13. Doubles: K.P. Vasanth Kumar & Jayaram Pai bt Ramakrishna & Sidney Frank 21-07, 21-12.
