Manipal: Mohith Kamath of Tata Padukone Badminton Academy (TPBA) emerged champion in the Five Star Karnataka State-ranking badminton tournament’s men’s section at the Manipal Institute of Technology Badminton Hall here on Friday. In the final, Mohith defeated Jagadish Yadav 21-12, 21-14. Meanwhile, Soumyapadhye won the women’s singles title, defeating G.M. Nischitha 22-20, 21-18. The results (finals): Men’s singles: Mohith Kamath bt Jagadish Yadav 21-12, 21-14. Doubles: Guruprasad & Vineet Manual bt Venkatesh Prasad & Druv Kumar 22-20, 25-23.
