Mount Abu girls keep winning

NEW DELHI: Mount Abu Public School (Rohini) defeated Bal Bharti Public School (Noida) 3-1 in tiebreaker after the teams were locked goalless in regulation time in the girls’ section of the 26th Mota Singh memorial hockey tournament here on Friday.

Puja, Richa and Kamini scored for the winning team while Vaishnavi scored for the Noida school.

On Thursday, the Rohini school beat Takurdwara Balika Vidyalaya, Ghaziabad, by a goal scored by Kamini.

In the junior boys’ section, Bal Bharati School, Pitampura, defeated Modern School, Barakhamba Road, 4-1. Adit (2), Sidharth and Akash scored for the winner. Bharat found the mark for Modern.

On Thursday, the boys from Pitampura registered a 1-0 triumph over S.D. Memorial School, Faridabad. Sankalp Joshi scored the match-winner.

In the senior boys’ category, Abhimanyu scored for Apollo International School, Sonepat, in its 1-0 victory over J.K.G. Public School, Ghaziabad. On Thursday, Guru Harkrishna Public School, Vasant Vihar, defeated host Mota Singh School 4-3 in the tiebreaker after a goalless regulation period. — Special Correspondent
