Kollam takes innings lead

KOTTAYAM: Kollam took the first-innings lead against Thiruvananthapuram in the South Zone under-14 inter-district cricket tournament at the St. Ephreme’s School ground on Thursday.

In reply to Kollam’s 187, Thiruvananthapuram was bundled out for 98 in just 25 overs.

A. Vishnu (three for 10) and Siraj Khan (three for 34) shared the spoils for Kollam.

At the University ground, Balu Babu’s incisive spell (four for 15) had Pathanamthitta reeling at 66 for five at stumps.

Earlier, Alappuzha was dismissed for 146 runs in 64 overs.

The scores:

Alappuzha 146 in 63.5 overs (Balu Babu 30, Prashob three for 31, Sharath three for 33) v Pathanamthitta 66 for five in 30 overs (Balu Babu four for 15).

Kollam 187 in 64.4 overs (Anandu R. Soman 33, Rahul Raghavan five for 55, Ajay Sharma four for 42) v Thiruvananthapuram 98 in 25 overs (Arjun Narayanan 48, A.Vishnu three for 10, Siraj Khan three for 34).
