New D-G takes over

NEW DELHI: M. V. Krishna Rao, a 1974-batch Indian Police Service officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, took over as Director-General of Sashastra Seema Bal on Thursday.

Mr. Rao replaced Gopal Sharma, who retired on November 30. Mr. Rao was previously posted as Police Commissioner of Hyderabad City and Director of Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (Hyderabad). On Central deputation, he joined the Central Reserve Police Force as Additional Director-General (North Zone) in November 2006 and then took over as Additional Director-General (CRPF Headquarters) in September 2007.
