Court record room ransacked

CHENNAI: The record room of a fast track court in the city was allegedly broken open by unidentified persons here on Thursday.
Police said the bench clerk of the court had lodged a complaint that the room containing documents pertaining to a Rs.30-lakh counterfeit currency case of the Crime Branch CID was forced open. Three almirahs were found ransacked.
The room was located on the second floor of ‘Singaravelan Maligai’ that houses the courts, Collectorate and other Government offices, police said and added that investigation was on to know what was missing from the room.
