10-day NCC training camp from Saturday

Madikeri: A 10-day combined annual NCC camp of the 19 Karnataka Battalion, will be held at the Government Junior College here from Saturday.

Cadets from all over Kodagu, and neighbouring Sullia and Puttur taluks of Dakshina Kannada, will be attending the camp, Lt. Col. H.C. Singh, Commanding Officer, said in a press release here on Thursday. Cadets from the senior division and wing and junior division and wing would participate.

Lt. Col. Singh said that the camp would help the cadets develop character building through various activities involving teamwork. It would inculcate in them discipline, dutifulness, punctuality, orderliness, respect for authority and work ethos.

Cadets would be put through drills, physical training and weapon training.

Speakers would give lectures on different subjects which would help build overall personality of the cadets, he said. Lt. Col. Singh stated that cadets would be exposed to community development programmes.
