CNC to hold meeting on anonymous letter threats

Staff Correspondent

Madikeri: A meeting will be held under the aegis of the Codava National Council at the APMC yard in Gonicoppa in Virajpet taluk of Kodagu on Saturday to discuss the issue of anonymous threat letters circulated to coffee planters belonging to Kodava community and Kodava social organisations, according to a press statement from secretary general of the CNC N.U. Nachappa on Wednesday.

Mr. Nachappa said that letters were sent only to Kodava people and it meant that only one community was targeted by the persons who were inimical to the interests of Kodavas in Kodagu.

The CNC would denounce the efforts being made to “extirpate” the Kodava population from Kodagu, he said.

Anonymous letters were circulated to a few Kodava coffee planters and Kodava Samaja units in Virajpet taluk of the district recently.
