CHENNAI: Maharashtra was shot out for 79 on the first day of its Cooch Behar Trophy (u-19) cricket match against Uttar Pradesh, here on Thursday. In reply, Uttar Pradesh was 155 for six at close.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh’s decision to send the opposition in after winning the toss was vindicated as the Maharashtra innings lasted a mere 23 overs, with just two of its batsmen reaching double figures.

At Chennai: Baroda 208 for six in 90 overs (Monil Patel 60, Nikunj Mohite 52, Aditya Reddy 42, J.D. Unadkat five for 33) vs. Saurashtra; Maharasthra 79 in 23 overs (Vishant More 39, Aman Litt four for 25, Mohd. Ahraz three for 32, K. Bhuvaneshwar three for 22) vs. Uttar Pradesh 155 for six in 62 overs (Ankit Tewari 41).

At Visakhapatnam: Vidarbha 233 for seven in 93 overs (Amogh Dani 55, Sankalap Kamble 51, Sumeeth Ruikar 43, Viraj Ratan 30, Jaskaran Singh four for 77) vs. Punjab; Rajasthan 279 for four in 92 overs (A. Menaria 105, Awajeet Singh 93) vs. Andhra.
