NEW DELHI: In the aftermath of the worst-ever Mumbai terror attacks, the government is taking steps to achieve coordination among multiple intelligence agencies so that prompt preventive action could be taken on the basis of ``actionable intelligence inputs” to thwart terror attacks. Home Minister P. Chidambaram has been having a series of daily meetings with National Security Adviser M. K. Narayanan, Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta, Intelligence Bureau Director P. C. Haldar, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief Ashok Chaturvedi and other senior officials of the IB and Military Intelligence.
Informed sources said Mr. Chidambaram has laid greater emphasis on almost perfect coordination of intelligence and security agencies. Mr. Chidambaram, on Wednesday, met Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani.
