Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Shobha Karandlaje said a decision had been taken to recruit 750 policemen for the internal security wing of the State to counter terrorism.

The Cabinet approved a proposal on establishment of a National Security Guards (NSG) unit in Bangalore, units of the Indian Reserve Battalion at Davangere, Bijapur and Tumkur.

A sum of Rs. 17 crore was required to set up three units of the IRB.
