Kageri holds review meeting with officers

Problems faced in educational districts noted

Bangalore: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri has said the Government will develop schools in Bangalore South and Bangalore North educational districts on a par with the aided and unaided private institutions during the next academic year.

He told presspersons on the sidelines of a review meeting of block education officers and deputy directors of public instruction he had here on Wednesday that the Government would develop its schools with all facilities that were available in private schools initially in Bangalore South and Bangalore North and implement the project across the State in a phased manner. The Minister said he had paid visits to and reviewed the performance of schools in 30 of the 33 educational districts and noted the problems being faced by them. He observed that many official meetings were not serving their purpose. The Minister regretted that some officers, particularly BEOs and DDPIs, had not been holding meetings. He had instructed them to hold meetings regularly.
