Court orders notices to nine political parties arrayed as respondents HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the A.P. High Court comprising Chief Justice A.R. Dave and Justice R. Subhash Reddy on Wednesday adjourned the case pertaining to prohibition of ‘road shows’ by political parties to next week and ordered notices to the nine political parties who were arrayed as respondents. It may be recalled that the Bench passed interim orders last Tuesday and directed the authorities not to allow any road shows by political parties in the State. Praja Rajyam, Telugu Desam Party and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti filed counter affidavits and requested the court to vacate the interim orders. They contended that the political activity has come to a grinding halt. One advocate said that he was appearing for the Congress party and sought time to file a counter affidavit. The Advocate General said that he will argue the matter without filing counter affidavit. The Bench adjourned the case and ordered notices returnable in a week. The political parties who are shown as respondents are Congress, TDP, TRS, Praja Rajyam, CPI, CPI(M), BJP, Nava Telangana Party, and MIM.
