Motorcyclists snatch money bag

BANGALORE: Two men on a motorcycle snatched a bag containing Rs. 40,000 in cash from a senior citizen here on Tuesday.

According to the complaint lodged with the Hanumantha Nagar police station, M. Nagesh Shenoy a resident of Srinivasanagar, had withdrawn Rs. 40,000 from the Corporation Bank branch in Srinivasa Nagar and heading towards the Canara Bank branch on 50 Feet Road to deposit it when the two accosted him, snatched the bag and sped away.

Dentist still absconding

Syeda Ameena (30), who allegedly chopped off a doctor’s private parts after he married another girl, is still absconding.

The victim Meer Arshad Ali (32) is recovering.

“We sent a team to her native Mysore but failed to trace her,” said the Koramangala police.

Chains snatched

In separate incidents, motorcyclists snatched two gold chains from two women here since Tuesday evening.

A motorcycle-borne duo approached Shruti, a Seshdripuram College student, from behind on the busy Nehru Road in Seshadripuram Wednesday morning and snatched her chain worth Rs. 13,000. A youth fled with a chain worth Rs. 40,000 from Usha near Chennammana Kere Acchukattu Tuesday evening.

The victim, a resident of Banashankari Second Stage, lodged a complaint with the Chennammana Kere Acchukattu police. Investigation is on.

House looted

Thieves broke into the house of L. Srinivas, a manager with Airtel, and stole household articles estimated at Rs. 1.65 lakh.

The theft, in Padmanabha Nagar, occurred a week ago, but came to light only on Tuesday as the family was away in Chennai.

The Banashankari police are investigating.
