Sudheeran seeks VS’ resignation

Staff Reporter

PATHANAMTHITTA: Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran has called for resignation of Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan for the latter’s insulting remarks on the bereaved family of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who had sacrificed his life for the sake of the nation.

Mr. Sudheeran was inaugurating a two-day leadership training camp of the National Union of BSNL Workers (INTUC) in Thiruvalla on Wednesday.

Mr. Achuthanandan’s irresponsible reaction to Maj. Unnikrishnan’s grief-stricken father itself was ample evidence to his incompetence to hold the high offices of Chief Minister, the Congress leader said.

He should tender an apology to the bereaved family and to the people of Kerala for issuing such a derogatory statement that had put the entire State to shame. The Chief Minister was trying to justify his flaws by blaming the media, Mr. Sudheeran said.
