Man found dead, wife critically injured

The couple and panshop dealer were involved in disputes in the past over their businesses


VISAKHAPATNAM: A man was found dead and his wife critically injured in a suspected attack at Devipuram of Sabbavaram mandal in the district on Wednesday. According to Anakapalle CI Papa Rao, R. Ramu Naidu, 55, and his wife Demudamma, 48, were staying at a house at Devipuram along with their grandson Chandrasekhar, 8.

Chandrasekhar was shocked to see his grandparents lying in a pool of blood when he removed the bed sheets in a bid to wake them up.

He informed elders who found Ramu Naidu dead and shifted Demudamma to a hospital in a critical condition where she is undergoing treatment.

The couple was involved in illicit liquor business and one Nageswara Rao, a pan shop dealer living opposite his shop, also sells liquor illegally through his shop.

The couple and Nageswara Rao were involved in disputes in the past over their businesses.

A case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Ramu Naidu’s daughter. Investigation is on.
