Traffic restrictions for Navy Day

Residents of Beach Road in case of emergency can contact East Traffic CI for passes

VISAKHAPATNAM: The City Police have imposed certain traffic restrictions between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in view of the Navy Day celebrations at Ramakrishna Beach on Thursday. Only vehicles with passes would be allowed on the stretch of road between Taj Hotel down and Pandurangapuram down. Other vehicles wouldn’t be allowed on the road.

Vehicles that have passes issued by the Navy would be allowed to enter the Beach Road via Siripuram junction, All India Radio junction and NTR Statue junction. Vehicles without passes would be allowed on this road and would be diverted via Pandurangapuram down.

Vehicles with pink passes should be parked at the Viswapriya Function hall, those with yellow and green passes should be parked at the space opposite the Kali temple, Matsya Darshini and IT Tower and those with white passes should be parked on the stretch between Taj Hotel down and NTR statue down.

Motorists coming to witness the Navy Day celebrations would be allowed via Park Hotel junction and have to park their vehicles at Pandurangapuram down and those coming via Ramnagar would be allowed to park their vehicles up to Taj Down. Visitors have to park their vehicles only between VUDA Park and Pandurangapuram down and between Taj Hotel down and Fishing Harbour at the designated parking lots.

RTC buses would not be allowed on the Beach Road between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. They would be allowed only up to Park Hotel junction and Collectorate junction. Residents of apartments on the Beach Road have been asked to use alternative roads during the five hours.

Residents who have to use the stretch of Beach Road in case of emergency can contact the East Traffic Circle Inspector K. Prabhakar on mobile no. 94407 96016 for issue of residential passes.

The parking of vehicles will not be allowed between C.R. Reddy Circle (HPCL outlet) and AIR Station, NTR statue and Pandurangapuram and AIR and Pandurangapuram down junction wouldn’t be allowed. Those who park their vehicles in violation of the orders would be fined and the vehicles towed away by the police.
