TRS to work for success of December 12 bandh

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) will work for the success of the bandh called by various Telangana-based organisations in the region on December 12.

The bandh to be organised to protest against the delay in granting Statehood to Telangana should be an eye opener to the UPA government and the All India Congress Committee which have betrayed the people of Telangana after promising the separate State, said TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

He told a press conference here on Wednesday that the bandh call was given by 16 organisations representing university professors and lecturers, intellectuals, employees, writers and private employees.

Mr. Rao threatened to intensify the separate Telangana movement with the cooperation of other parties ahead of elections.

He criticised Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for setting up obstacles to the State by using his clout with the UPA government.

The TRS chief prophesied that the Congress would not win more than five Assembly seats in Telangana in the next elections.
