BHUBANESWAR: As a tribute to the late veteran film journalist and editor of the popular film magazine Chitrapuri Basant Patnaik, Orissa Film and Media Association (OFMA) has announced to institute an annual award that would be conferred on a film journalist of the State writing on Oriya cinema. Patnaik passed away on January 21 this year. OFMA secretary and former editor of Cine Samay monthly film magazine Ashoak Palit told this newspaper that the decision was taken on the occasion of late Patnaik’s 78th birth anniversary celebration at Cuttack on Sunday. The annual award would be presented every year on January 21, the death anniversary of the Patnaik, he added. Orissa Film Development Corporation chairperson Sitakanta Mishra, who inaugurated the meet has assured the Association to provide it all possible support to further the cause of Oriya cinema and Oriya film journalism, informed the secretary. OFMA would host an Oriya film festival in New Delhi early next .
